Recruitment Manager

We’re looking for a new Recruitment Manager with an affinity for marketing and employer branding to join our Expert Operations team. You will be responsible for recruiting and onboarding freelance editors from over the entire world!

Full-time · Amsterdam

Who are we?

Founded in 2012 by two ambitious students in Tilburg (the Netherlands), Scribbr started as a Proofreading & Editing company with only one editor. Today, our team of more than 800 editors, citation and layout experts worldwide provides proofreading and editing in 10 different languages to help students achieve their academic goals.

Combining years of experience in academic writing with technical know-how, we have successfully expanded our service portfolio by electronic tools like the Plagiarism Checker, Citation Generator, Citation Checker and a public Knowledge Base, which is used by millions of students and educators every year.

We’re proud to be a trusted brand in EdTech and continue to strive to make students 100% happy.

About the job

As our new Recruitment Manager, you will make sure that we have onboarded 100+ new qualified German Editors by the end of 2021! 🚀

How? By designing a recruitment strategy on how to identify, attract, and onboard (qualify) new editors effectively. You are able to use your skills and experience to develop a winning plan for attracting and retaining talent to grow Scribbr’s editor community.

By successfully taking on this challenge, you will set the basis for editor recruitment for all of our Proofreading and Editing languages and eagerly take the lead in developing Scribbr's own employer brand.

Recruitment

  • Planning and executing short, medium and long term Editor recruitment
  • Attract top freelance talent - your goal?  90% of the applicants in the Scribbr Academy will complete it and become qualified to be a Scribbr editor
  • Improve the Editor qualification process (Scribbr Academy) in close collaboration with the Quality Managers of the respective languages
  • Develop a long term recruitment strategy adapted to busy periods and freelance culture per language, ensuring that we have enough editing capacity to stay online during peaks

Employer Branding

  • Design a growth path for editors in close collaboration with the Quality and Community Management teams
  • Develop an Employer Value Proposition (EVP), reflecting benefits of working for Scribbr and the rewards offered to freelance editors
  • Embed the developed brand strategy in everything Scribbr does, aligning the brand with the business priorities, and existing marketing strategies
  • Coordinate employer branding activities and managing our employer reputation via different channels (e.g. Social Media, Glassdoor, etc.)

In this role, you will identify opportunities to attract talent for the Scribbr Academy and improve the efficiency of editor recruitment. At the same time, you will uncover and promote the various factors to make Scribbr an employer of choice and a great place to work for freelance editors.

At the beginning you will focus on recruitment and employer branding aimed at our editors, but ultimately you can grow and build a recruitment team that manages this for all of Scribbr, including Citation & Layout specialists and our full-time employees.

About you

You have a strategic mindset and strong analytical skills, and are excited to take ownership of the complete development and implementation of (new) recruitment and employer branding strategies.

Additionally, you bring:

  • Bachelor degree or higher in the field of Human Resources, Business Administration and/or Marketing
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in the field of Employer Branding and/or (full-cycle) Recruitment
  • Experience with recruiting freelancers or working as a freelancer yourself is a plus
  • Preferably familiar with scale-up growth and challenges
  • Refined communication skills in English and German (Dutch or French are a plus!)
    • Tech-savvy; ideally you’ve worked with Asana, Slack, and GSuite
    • Strong knowledge and competence in data analysis to process, structure and use data from application statistics to visualize and improve recruitment processes
    • Affinity with marketing and employer branding
